Hi, my name is Irene Ferguson, my home has always been in Christchurch, New Zealand.
I love being creative.
Over the years this has seen me involved in a number of creative activities with a focus on the natural environment. These include pottery, watercolour and oil painting, and over the last few years, photography.
My first DSLR camera was a Canon 600D. From there I progressed to a Canon 6D with numerous interchangeable lenses.
I joined the Christchurch Photographic Society NZ in 2013 to seek guidance about new techniques and equipment, and as a result met some amazing photographers  many who have become very good friends.
By joining in the activities with this group my photography skills improved, and so did my rating at club level. Competition was fierce with so many excellent photographers, I found each competition exciting and learnt as much as I could from the critiques.
2019 was exciting, it was the year I received the most points in the B Grade Aggregate Challenge receiving a Silver Cup.
This Website includes a Portfolio that completes my study with the Southern Institute of Technology for a New Zealand Diploma in Photography. This study program was undertaken to further understand the more technical aspects of enhanced professional photography.
